Why are your prices so low?

My prices are low because I don’t want the cost of hiring an experienced mentor to keep anyone from trying duck hunting. I’m going to be going out anyway and if I have the chance to share the experience with another waterfowler, weather brand new or a grizzled vet it only enhances my hunt. This is a passion for me not how I support my family. My name says it all I’m “your buddy with a boat” I’m not trying to get rich because you don’t know where to go in central Texas to hunt ducks.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes, I’m a veteran and offer discounts for military and civil service members. I also offer special pricing for first time waterfowl hunters. Call today for details.

What do I need to duck hunt?

If your new to duck hunting the gear list can be quite daunting. However hunting with Your Buddy With A Boat you really only need the basics: Waders, Shotgun, non-toxic shot, weather appropriate clothing, appropriate licences and stamps.

Where do you hunt?

While I do hunt some private land the majority of the areas we will hunt are public lands. I spend a lot of time leading up to the season and during the season scouting to ensure that we hunt on the ‘X’. For those that think you can’t be successful on public land, they haven’t put in the work to find the ducks and be successful.

Where do we meet?

Depending on where you are we can meet at duck hunting HQ in Leander TX or we can meet on the boat ramp at the designated time. It really depends on what works for you and your hunt.

How do payments work?

For half day and full day trips a 50% deposit is required to book your hunt. The remainder is due 7 days before your hunt. For weekend getaway hunts payments will be arranged when you set your hunt dates and finalize details of your trip. There is a 5% fee for plastic payments.

What if the weather is bad?

The thing about duck hunting in Central Texas is that it is an all weather adventure. Rain or shine the hunt will go on. The good news is that ducks love the bad weather so while we hope for great weather we will hunt when it’s nasty. The only time we would need to postpone or cancel a trip is if the wind is too high and the intended hunting area is under a small craft advisory. If that happens you will have the option of a full refund or rescheduling at no cost.
